Legal and privacy
This page states who publishes the site, what the site is and is not, and what happens to an address that a reader gives it.
Who publishes the site
The CBAM Academy is published by Josef Rasuly, and it is supported by Carbon Mandate. The site is independent of the European Commission, of any national competent authority and of any accreditation or verification body, and it does not speak for any of them.
What the site is not
The pages here are a reference on the law as the author reads it in the primary sources. They are not legal advice, they are not tax advice, and they do not create a professional relationship with a reader. An importer carrying the obligation under the regulation remains responsible for its own declarations, and a reader who needs advice on a particular consignment should take it from an adviser who can see the facts.
Every page states the date it was last read against the sources. The law moves, and a page read on one date may be out of date on another.
Cookies and measurement
The site sets no cookies, runs no tracker and measures no reader. The storage notice keeps one record in the reader’s own browser, which says that the notice has been read, and that record never leaves the browser.
The newsletter
An address given to the newsletter is passed to the email provider that sends the list, and it is held there with the record of whether the address has confirmed and whether it has unsubscribed. Nothing else about a subscriber is stored, and no address is sold, rented or passed to anyone else. Every message carries a link that removes the address from the list in one click, and a reader can ask through the contact form for the record to be deleted.
The contact form
A message sent through the contact form is delivered by email to the desk, together with the address given so that the message can be answered. The message is kept for as long as the correspondence is live and is not used for anything else.
Copyright in the text
The text on the site belongs to its author. Quote a passage with a link to the page it came from. The text of the European instruments quoted on these pages belongs to the European Union, and it is reproduced from the Official Journal under the conditions the Union publishes it on.
Getting in touch
Write through the contact form. No address is published in the markup of this site, because a published address is harvested within days.
